Meguiar’s presentation was led by Application Engineer / Professional Training Specialist Jaime Araya and Customer Experience (CX) Manager Blake Beamish. Their Appearance Care 101 presentation was chock-full of useful hints and information on how to keep your car’s exterior and interior in tip-top shape for the long haul. It also highlighted the broad spectrum of products the company offers. Neither Meguiar’s nor a Google search provided a precise figure. The total, however, easily reaches into the hundreds.
To name but one example, Meguiar’s offers individual wheel care products for chrome, OEM painted, black and aluminum with sensitive finish wheels. Perhaps some may see this as too much “nichefication” or product overkill. In reality, it’s a reaffirmation of the company’s attention to detail and role as a true benchmark in vehicle care and maintenance. In other words, they judiciously determine which of their products should be “multipurpose” for quick and convenient use, and which should be optimized for one specific finish or surface.
The product demonstration
Although a couple of different vehicles were used to demonstrate myriad Meguiar’s products, most demonstrations were on a black 2024/25 Hyundai Sonata sedan. This color was selected because it shows the most contrast between a “clean” and a “dirty” exterior.
The first key step, of course, is to NEVER use dishwashing liquid on your exterior finish. This strips the wax and can dry your paint out, leading to a loss of gloss and shine. Ideally, you should wash your car weekly, using a quality microfiber wash mitt and premium car wash/shampoo. Apply a high quality automotive wax 3-4 times a year. Maintain your car in-between washes by using a mist and wipe.
