Miami, FL, Friday 25 April 2025. International automotive conglomerate Stellantis hosted the April 2025 SAMA Member Luncheon. The featured guest was the Dodge Charger Daytona EV, hosted by Kimberly Shults (Stellantis Southern Region Communications Director) and Ashton Muñoz (Dodge Charger Product Manager).
The 2024/25 Dodge Charger Daytona EV is the first 2-door Charger coupe since 1987. Its styling inspiration, however, goes back much farther than that, to the iconic 1968-70 model renowned for its appearances in legendary movies (Bullitt) and TV series (The Dukes of Hazzard) alike.
The new Charger’s powertrain, however, is very much 21st century: fully electric with zero emissions. Its 100.5 kWh battery pack combines 2 electric motors (one per axle) and all-wheel drive. The top-of-the-line Scat Pack Stage 2 produces up to 670 hp with Power Shot and goes from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds. Its full charge range is up to 241 miles. In the more frugal R/T version, this figure increases to 308 miles.
Lest you expect the silent whirring of electric motors, the new Dodge Charger Daytona EV includes the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, whose speakers and 600-watt amplifier produce a very convincing simulation of a rumbling muscle car V8. In all, the new Charger Daytona EV is a unique and compelling muscle car for the zero emissions electric era.
