Miami, FL, Saturday 28 February 2026. SAMA barely held its second Board Meeting of 2026. Due to other prior events at our usual World Trade Center Miami venue, it was held just as the month of February ended – Friday 27 February, to be precise.. Officers present in February were Daniel Álvarez (president), Joaquín Ruhi (vice president) and Jorge “Nacho” García (secretary). Other members present were SAMA president emeritus Paul Borden and board directors Jaime Florez and Eduardo Hapke.
At last month’s Board Meeting, Eduardo Hapke informed us that his Negocios magazine would be unveiling its March 2026 cover on Thursday 5 March 2026. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, said event was not held. If it is rescheduled, we will certainly advise SAMA members.
Potential dealership-sponsored SAMA luncheons
As carmakers cut back on official presentations at local car journalists’ associations such as SAMA, discussion at our February meeting centered on the possibility of local auto dealers taking up the slack and hosting events focusing on their current model lineups. At this point, we have no concrete news to report on that front. Once we do, you will certainly be informed.
A reminder about 2026 dues
As the 2026 calendar year approaches the end of its first quarter, only a handful of SAMA members have paid their annual membership dues for 2026. We thank you for that, and issue this reminder to the remaining members who have not yet paid to please do so. For your convenience, you may opt to pay via Zelle. This is set up under the email noreli@prestigeautous.com . The traditionalists among you can still pay via mailed check. Please note that we have held our annual dues to $100 for an Individual nontransferable Membership. Corporate/Business transferable Membership remains at $200.
