Miami, FL, Friday 16 January 2026. The first SAMA Board Meeting of 2026 was held on the third Thursday (given that New Year’s Day fell on a Thursday this year). It was held at the usual World Trade Center in Miami venue. Officers present in January were Daniel Álvarez (president) and Joaquín Ruhi (vice president)..Other members present were SAMA president emeritus Paul Borden, board directors Jaime Florez and Eduardo Hapke and board advisor María Ravani, Tony Serrato represented his brother Marcello (SAMA treasurer).
An upcoming event
At the January Board Meeting, Eduardo Hapke informed us that his Negocios magazine will be unveiling its March 2026 cover on Thursday 5 March 2026 at 6:00 PM. This event, co-sponsored by SAMA, will take place at 150 Alhambra Circle in Coral Gables. Emailed invitations with RSVP information will be forthcoming. Please be sure to Save the Date.
A reminder about 2026 dues
As we enter the 2026 calendar year, we remind you that it’s time to pay your SAMA annual membership dues. Our secretary Jorge “Nacho” García has just sent email reminders with all pertinent information. As has been the case the past couple of years, you may opt to pay via Zelle. The traditionalists among you can still pay via mailed check. Again, full details appear in our recent email. Please note that we have held our annual dues to $100 for an Individual nontransferable Membership. Corporate/Business transferable Membership remains at $200.
