Miami, FL, Friday 9 May 2025. On Thursday 8 May, SAMA held its fifth Board Meeting of the year at the World Trade Center in Miami. Officers present were Daniel Álvarez (SAMA president), Joaquín Ruhi (SAMA vice president), and Jorge “Nacho” García (SAMA secretary). Other members present were SAMA directors María Ravani and Eduardo Hapke, as well as Tony Serrato. Specially invited guests were Albert Collazo (Hispanic Communications Director for Ford) and Ariel García-Linares (Vice President, Transportation Sector at Ketchum).
After noting that our new sama.miami website has gone live, the Board Meeting agenda turned to some upcoming events. The first of these is the June Member Luncheon. This will be hosted by Meguiar’s, the renowned manufacturer of top-of the line car care products. Founded almost 125 years ago, Meguiar’s products include waxes, polishes, cleaners, conditioners and protectants for the automotive and marine markets. Invitations with an RSVP request have already gone out to our members in good standing.
Looking further ahead, we are pleased to announce the return, after a 6-year hiatus, of the Hot Wheels Fun Day at the Miami Cancer Institute. This spiritual successor to SAMA’s Rides and Smiles will bring some of our hottest rides for the enjoyment of children undergoing cancer treatment. Please mark your calendars for Saturday 6 September 2025 from 10 AM to 12 noon. This will serve as a kickoff for National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month events at the Miami Cancer Institute. It will also mark the start of an active SAMA September, with the 2nd annual ChargedUp Miami and the Miami Auto Show closing out the month.
