Miami, FL, Wednesday 22 October 2025. The 10th SAMA Board Meeting of 2025 was held on an atypical date: the third Tuesday of the month instead of the usual second Thursday. It was held at the usual World Trade Center in Miami. venue. Officers present were Daniel Álvarez (president), Joaquín Ruhi (vice president) and Jorge “Nacho” García (secretary). Also present were president emeritus Paul Borden, board member Eduardo Hapke and board advisor María Ravani.. Special guest was Ariel García-Linares, Vice President, Transportation Sector at Ketchum.
Recapping an active September…
As October and the less intensely hot temperatures of autumn are upon us, we look back on September, the busiest month on SAMA’s 2025 calendar. All the events that required such detailed, extensive planning are now a fond memory.
The month kicked off with the successful completion of the second Hot Wheels Fun Day at the Miami Cancer Institute on Saturday 6 September. Next came the 2nd annual ChargedUp Miami drive and awards event for electrified vehicles. This was held on Wednesday 24 September at The Athletic Club Miami.
On Thursday 25 September, a trio of jurors (vice president Joaquín Ruhi, secretary Jorge “Nacho” García and our newest member Diego Porciello) selected the 2025 SAMA Award winners. These were publicly announced at the 2025 Miami International Auto Show on Friday 26 September at the Squadra Lupo display.

The remainder of the year
Some discussion was held as to what SAMA activities for the remainder of 2025 would look like. There is nothing specific to announce at this point. Hopefully, the November Board Meeting (to be held tentatively on Thursday 13 November) should bring some clarity on the date and location of SAMA’s annual Holiday Party.
