Miami, FL, Friday 21 August 2026. As the summer of 2026 winds down and autumn and back-to-school loom large, SAMA held the year’s eighth SAMA Board Meeting. It took place on the third Tuesday of August at the usual World Trade Center in Miami venue. Officers present in August were Daniel Álvarez (president) and Joaquín Ruhi (vice president). Also present was SAMA board director Maria Ravani. Tony Serrato represented his brother Marcello (SAMA treasurer). Special guest was Ariel García-Linares, Vice President, Transportation Sector at Ketchum.
A fairly quiet meeting
As befits the so-called “dog days of summer”, the August SAMA Board Meeting was a fairly quiet one. At last month’s board meeting, we noted that SAMA would be reaching out to carmakers that may be willing to support our upcoming 2026 Hot Wheels Fun Day at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital‘s main Miami Hospital Campus. Shortly after the August meeting, said outreach was completed. If there are any responses, we will inform you after our next Board Meeting, currently scheduled for Thursday 24 September.
Another upcoming October event
Although board director Eduardo Hapke was unable to attend our August Board Meeting, he sent word that Negocios and Ejecutiva Magazines’ Top Entrepreneur Awards for 2026 will be held on Thursday 8 October. Please save the date. Further details will be forthcoming in invitations to be sent to current SAMA members in good standing.
