Miami, FL, Friday 24 July 2026. Past the halfway point of the 2026 calendar year, we held the year’s seventh SAMA Board Meeting. It took place on the fourth Wednesday of July at the usual World Trade Center in Miami venue. Officers present in June were Daniel Álvarez (president) and Joaquín Ruhi (vice president). Also present were SAMA president emeritus Paul Borden, board director Maria Ravani and board advisor Jaime Florez. Tony Serrato represented his brother Marcello (SAMA treasurer). Special guest was Albert Collazo, Hispanic Communications Director for Ford.
More on the Hot Wheels Fun Day 2026
A week before the July board meeting (on Tuesday 14 July, to be exact), a follow-up Zoom meeting of SAMA leadership, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital staffers and Albert Collazo was held. Said meeting was to help formalize certain details of the 2026 followup to last year’s Hot Wheels Fun Day. Most importantly, we have confirmed a date and time of Wednesday 7 October 2026 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM.
Given the more compact facilities at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital’s main Miami Hospital Campus, we expect to bring at most only 5 vehicles to the event, perhaps 6.
SAMA will be reaching out to carmakers that may be willing to support the worthy cause of helping to make the lives of the kids with chronic childhood illness at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital brighter.
